Bob Beyer

Bob’s career spanned 45 years in local government in the Bay Area. He served as city manager Saratoga and San Rafael and has served as the Deputy City Manager and Assistant Executive Director of the Redevelopment Agency for the City of San Jose. Bob operated his own consulting firm, Beyer & Associates, for ten years where he continued to assist local governments as an interim city manger, and community development director. He recently retired after serving for 8 years as the Director of Community Development for the City of San Mateo. He received his B.S. degree in Social Science from San Francisco State and undertook graduate work both at San Francisco State and the University of Santa Clara. He was awarded a CORO Foundation Internship in Public Affairs in San Francisco. Bob is a life member of the International City Management Association and presently serves on the General Plan Committee for the Town of Los Gatos. He also serves on the Budget and Finance Committee for his homeowners association. He has served on several non-profit boards, the Southwest and Central YMCA’s of Silicon Valley as a member and president and the Center for Healthy Development as a board member.
