Grainger Marburg has over 20 years of combined experience in education, management consulting, philanthropy and non-profit management. Highlights of his past experience include a two-year teaching assignment in Micronesia as a Peace Corps Volunteer, managing a comprehensive neighborhood improvement initiative in east San Jose with the former Community Foundation Silicon Valley and successfully turning around a local nonprofit. Social justice and equity issues have strongly informed Grainger’s employment choices.
Grainger’s international upbringing (in England, the Philippines and the US) and his Peace Corps assignment in Micronesia have shaped his fervent appreciation for different cultures and people. This appreciation has led to enhanced sensibilities and competencies in creative problem-solving, analysis, and communication, all skills he desperately needs to be the husband and father he aspires to be with his wife and two sons. Grainger has a B.A. from Hampshire College and an Ed.M. from Harvard University.
