Marta A. Gea Franca LMFT, RPT
Marta is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a registered Play Therapist. She has extensive experience providing therapy and counseling services to children, adolescents and parents at public schools, community agencies settings and group private practice in the Bay Area. Marta graduated from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology/Sophia University with a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology and Creative Expressions Certification. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Graduate Studies in Early Childhood Special Education from Portland State University. She is passionate about working with children, adolescents, parents and families. Marta believes that each person is on his/her own journey and has the innate drive to grow and heal. As a therapist, her role is to provide a safe space and the appropriate support and guidance to facilitate each person’s unique growth and healing process. Marta is a bicultural therapist. She was born in São Paulo, Brazil. She has lived half of her life in USA and half in Brazil. She has a deep understanding of acculturation issues and she is sensitive to clients’ diverse cultural experiences.
